G-ZIP compression is good or bad in SEO?

    What is the use of G-ZIP compression in SEO? Is it good or bad to a website?I am expecting expert answers for this question...thankyou:confused:

    by having the compression in your site, your server presents the compressed version to the search engine, and hence they can index more amount of pages in the same time.

    To my knowledge there is no downside. The benefit is that your pages will load faster, page load speed is metric used in ranking SERPS (a pretty unknown metric, but one nonetheless). All in all compression is GOOD!
