I doubt this is the first time many of you have seen this, however for me, it's the first time, and I find it quite interesting. I've seen countless posts asking 'what can be done where copyright infringement is concerned'. Well, it seems this is evidence of G's proactive aproach to same. Scroll to the bottom of page and read the notice in italics.. if it's not there try the following page, as it only appears on the page where the offending result would have appeared.. (not mine BTW) http://www.google.com.au/search?q=home+security&hl=en&lr=&start=20&sa=N Cheers, JL
Yes, you don't see it often but you do see it occasionally. Click on the link provided )http://www.chillingeffects.org/notice.cgi?sID=158)and you get this:
I've seen this before (in fact I try to remember tha search term). When I searched on google with a keyword related to "ringtones" I got this message at the bottom. Then I clicked, and there was this long complaint by a website owner in TX, USA (along with his contact details) and he gave extensive examples about how this website from India stole his whole content etc etc. and this Indian website was removed from the search resulted "as stated in the complaint page". It's pretty interesting. But how will Google make sure that this Indian website stole from this guy? There are many different aspects of copyright issues. But it's getting annoying with this free article sites. I guess it's a start, and can be taken into a good level.
Several months ago a foreign web site copied an entire site of mine. After issuing a complaint to Google, they informed me that, if I continued, my complaint would be published on the world wide web. I found another solution to my problem.
- And why would that be a problem? (or am I misinterpreting the point) Maybe they were promising you to take it one step further on your behalf if you insisted? I wonder too about your "other solution"...
I saw that with kazaa lite or kazaa plus a while back. Kind of amusing that you can see the link in the complaint. It's guaranteed exposure for whoever you complain about.
