Hi, I've heard different opinions on this subject. I swap links with any website as long as I feel my type of customer visits those sites and if it will bring me business. Am I wrong for thinking this way? Will google penalize me in the rankings for some of these non related sites?
You may not get penalized, but you certainly wont benefit. Excessive reciprocal linking may make search engines think that your site is some kind of link farm and this would bring penalties. Where possible it is best to link to related information and to have inbound links rather than all reciprocal.
yea reciprocal link won't benefit you much as they don't carry much weight as one way links.. and i don't think google will penalize for quality relevant linking but excessive unrelevant linking won't do any good as Gan said
