On all my sites the last couple days, I've been getting 10 or more bots at a time hitting them crawling like crazy. Also, I noticed the datacenters are starting to sync themselves and show similar data (the pre-jagger flashbacks are gone). I think an update is under way, and that may be a sign of another backlink and toolbar PR update. Just speculation really, but there has been alot of activity lately.
for the last time, google is NOT updating. there are a bajillion threads on this, PLEASE STOP MAKING THEM.
Just stop reading them if they bother you so much. Personally, I am seeing alot of bot activity lately as well and we are right at the point of time where and update is very close. How do you KNOW an update isn't starting?
www.seochat.com has a utility which checks about 10 datacenters. when those start changing you will know there is an update happening. I see about 200-500 googlebot visits/day on my sites -- that doesn't mean there is an update happening.

Funny how some people get pissed off... wonder why these threads bother you so much. Thanks for the info md. i noticed this as well, ive got bots on my site all day and plenty of them . Usually they dont come and/or stay that much. Also i read before, once we have a couple of PR is updating threads.. it actually is ;p wel lthis is the third or something!!
Jeez dude take a chill pill. Nobody said there was an update, I just said there was activity going on. That activity may be a predictor of an impending update... or maybe not. Who knows.
