It has announced the launch of 'G.co' domain which is dedicated to shortening URLs of its own sites. Whoa! The reason behind this strategic move is to simplify the task of distributing Urls across social networking or microblogging services. Read this on The Register earlier. I do not see much sense in it to be honest, that have goo.gl after all The past year has seen huge fights break out and we are getting bombarded with changes and new services. Its getting tricky keeping up with everything. In the long term I suppose g.co might be a good idea but.... Sighs...
as I read on some sites, they have registered the domain but they will not be changing anything with their existing URL shortening service. If they are going to infact change, then too many things changing at google
