Well, that is interesting - and that tool shows me... surfinglegendsandhoaxes.com "actual" at 4 - 5 on toolbar kaediem.com actual at 6 - 5 on toolbar (the 6 is a first) myrollercoasterkid.com actual 5 - 0 on toolbar. I wonder if this is being pulled from the same place as the information on google sitemaps data is kept. For those that don't know, there is a page that shows you a graph of pr for the site but just says high, med, low rather than actual numbers. Lisa
Nice find!! Lets find out... http://livepr.raketforskning.com/ The downside with this one is that it only uses one datacenter. Reload the page and you get a different one which can give out another PR.
Because of this thread, I'm running an experiment at larrylim.net to put the debate to rest once and for all.
I've found an interesting article about the future pagerank prediction tool from iwebtools http://www.web-designers.biz/2006/02/pagerank-prediction-exposed.html it explains how the calculation of iwebtools works.
Bah!!! I think it's official, these scripts are crummy when it comes to being correct!!!!! For example, it gives PR 2 for seo-contests.com. It gets a PR 5. It gives PR 7 for n-i-n-t-e-n-d-o.com. It drops to PR 2, and so on!!!!!!
What a wild variation in predictions! Anyone else have a site like this? Why would it be so high on some datacenters and so low on others? When the new toolbar pagerank was briefly showing yesterday, is was showing a 4. http://www.futurepagerank.net/futureprcheck.php?url=www.ipbforums.net toolbarqueries.google.com 3 / 10 ( Check ) 3 / 10 ( Check ) 64.233.161.99 3 / 10 ( Check ) 7 / 10 ( Check ) 64.233.161.104 3 / 10 ( Check ) 7 / 10 ( Check ) 66.102.7.99 3 / 10 ( Check ) 5 / 10 ( Check ) 66.102.7.104 3 / 10 ( Check ) 5 / 10 ( Check ) 216.239.59.99 3 / 10 ( Check ) 3 / 10 ( Check ) 216.239.59.104 3 / 10 ( Check ) 3 / 10 ( Check ) 216.239.37.104 3 / 10 ( Check ) 7 / 10 ( Check ) 216.239.39.99 0 / 10 ( Check ) 7 / 10 ( Check ) 216.239.39.104 0 / 10 ( Check ) 7 / 10 ( Check ) 66.102.11.99 3 / 10 ( Check ) 3 / 10 ( Check ) 66.102.11.104 4 / 10 ( Check ) 7 / 10 ( Check )
Sorry to disappoint you all. There is a major code flaw in the iwebtool and those predicters. See this VERY interesting thread and my answers in the end: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/33121.htm Looks like the coders of iwebtool and the other tools never understood the XML output. See this as example The XML feed is a search query not info of an URL, this is the code mistake. The tool Hanu wrote in WMW can be displayed here. It is RK that is interesting. I am currently researching or checking more data if RK in fact is that real PR and I am in contact with the swedish developer behind the LivePR tool. In some weeks we might see articles such as: PR is dead! It is RK! We'll see ...
Shortly after this post I did even a bit more research, found some more things and wrote my article: http://www.jimwestergren.com/google-rk-as-internal-live-pagerank-pr-evidence-findings/ I will conduct more testing/observations once I get some some more time to do so - right now I have about 15 clients to take care of. Since I wrote the article (few days) it is being talked about on the following places: English: http://www.seomoz.org/blogdetail.php?ID=844 http://www.seobuzzbox.com/live-pagerank-calculator.html http://www.cre8asiteforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34407 http://www.seorefugee.com/forums/go...ank-fluctuation-end-page-ranking-we-know.html Norwegian: http://webaksess.no/arkiv/2006/02/googles_oppdatering_av_pagerank_har_startet.html http://norskwebforum.no/viewtopic.php?t=24297 German: http://www.internetmarketing-news.de/2006/02/24/google-xml-data-feed/ http://www.abakus-internet-marketing.de/foren/viewtopic/t-24366/start-30.html For those interested in PR, this is something very intesting.
