Can anyone in Europe confirm that they can see this post? And if you can't see the post, can you see the rest of the site?

Your effort to provide more unique features in directories are basically pushing those old ones ;) Good job.

Staying the current events is very important. I see old directoies still using dynamic URLs. More webmasters know SEO, so if they don't update for the needs, they can die even with strong backlinks. To me, old things are not attractive any more.

Old ones seem not to realize how powerful some of young ones are ;) I am guessing that these guys don't even do much of SEO. And that is probably the reason they are not sensitive to what to change and update for the majority of advertisers.

    Interesting Read.

I just hope that this downfall of the big boys doesn't mean the directory industry will become obsolete in the future, especially with the paid links issues that Google is trying to target.

Its an interesting business thats really in its infancy at this stage, you have to have your finger on the pulse the whole time to grow your directory into a strong quality resource that people will want to submit there websites into.

I have some interesting innovative ideas coming on stream in the near future that will really add value for the customer.

what normally happens is that the people looking for quick cash and simply copying whatever thinks makes them money will drop out. Those who have somewhat of a vision on their own will hang in and survive.

well you will only get submittors if you don't provide any extra services, but if you have other services in your directory which attracts users they will come back again but not as a submittor but as a normal user.

I provide free templates / arcade / freebies / interestin reads in my blog, so i get a good amount of traffic from SE's.

I am talking about my Genuine Paid Directory

Yes i do get htis from the keywords including but not limited to

    phpld mods
    phpld templates
    deep link mod
    paid directory
    free phpld templates
    phpld blog
    phpld theme with mod
    quality paid directory

etc etc... so i do get visitors to just use the services i provide rather than just submitting and alot of them who use the service support me by submitting the sites :)

so its always good to provide other resources as well and if you have innovative ideas no you will not be considered as a SEO Spam because if that was to be it than all the sites which sells sitewide will be one ;)

So basically what you're saying is that its better to have a WEBSITE with good content along with a Directory? Yes I do think that will be quite better in terms of performance and quality victis because you can use the directory as initial linkbait and then convert them to repeated visitors with other services.

Thanks for the info .. I do share the same opinion ..

    Cheers,

    Venetsian.

I think that this problem has now been resolved. If someone who could not see the post before could check now and let me know if they see it, I would appreciate it.

I think the directories that provide good niche listings, content, or a service will do well in the future. Especially since the SE's results are deteriorating (IMO).

The ones that list anybody, or anybody with $$. Not so good. :D
