I believe we are in the future of SEO, things wont change much other then that Google wants to eliminate Paid Links, but it could take years for that to happen IMO!

The future of SEO depends on the features, availability, and system of a search engine. If the search engine improves or develop, SEO also will improve.

The future of SEO is going to be adwords..

Eventually the results are going to be dominated by large authority sites or Google owned sites and youll have to pay for any exposure (this is slowly starting to happen with wikipedia and youtube already)

Just my 2 cents worth :)

That's right, large companies are owning more of this monopoly board than ever, they're slapping expensive hotels up on them daily and trying to weed out the small independent webmasters, it's getting harder and harder.

New penalties are merging all the time, new rules, most of which are being pulled by the big G and to stop us smaller guys from competing,

they say "Don't buy links and manipulate the search engines"

They do "Just save the money and buy the site out from under them instead and then you can have as many links as you want"

So that's the future of SEO right there - you want links don't buy them individually, go and buy the whole damn site and then put your links up - there's no rule about you buying sites and submitting your own links on them - as long as they're similar sites you'll be fine.

I can see the future to be very bright and shiny... Cuz online spendings are increasing and expected to double by 2010. So a lotta scope for all of us to survive.. lol... ;)

In the future, only strong and usefull websites with good content and a real value for the users will survive.
