The only thing certain about the future of SEO is that it will continue to change. I do think that the search engines will continue to get better and better at finding meaningful content, so using SEO to promote weak content will be harder.
The future of SEO means bad news for websites which don't provide absolutely the best and highest quality content... Oh and i also think video will play a major role in the future of the quality of websites. And as a SEO company/person you have to be ready to continually adapt to the changing world of SEO... and i also think that's one of the reasons it can sometimes be quite exciting and challenging.
The future of SEO is quite bright as a lot of methods and tools keep evolving and no matter what Google or other search engines do, people will keep inventing new methods to rank well that will work for at least sometime.
Build great content that keeps visitors on your pages and on your site... That is the future, always was the future of SEO..... In the near future, with the backlink mayhem that the big "G" created" will be eliminated... stats on time, on pages and site, exit pages and so on will be all that matters...keep your visitors on your site and coming back and you will be fine... Get them leaving in a hurry, no matter your "link popularity" you will fail... The future of SEO has been clear from day one...just took alot of time to get there....
P.S. playing the "catch up with Google" game is dated....true Internet marketers have already realized the game is over.... to think you can keep playing this game is dumb founded, and though I am no fan of the "G" if a search over takes them it will proceed in the same fashion.... people want great search, Google promises to deliver great search.... Your responsiblity is to create great search results... I said this years ago and now it is hear, keep visitors on your pages and make the "buzz" occur.... the question for me is how much traffic will filter into so-so sites....
No, SEO is whatever Google wants to allow or eliminate.. I trade stocks, most people who trade stocks know, there is no system... Keywords and backlinks are old hat...the "G" algo will only care about time on pages and site in do time... (and with do respect, related to keywords people use to get to the site) IMO, never use the word "system" when it comes to making any type of money, use the word "adapt" or "method"... In any financial industry the word system means "doom" Sytems are something people sell to other people once they know "their" system is doomed... Peace

well my prediction is that msn will put a lot more energy time and money improving their system and they will buy up yahoo, also you will see in time microsoft using some clever methods to get more users and eventually start to get more users. we all should advice new internet users to use msn and yahoo if we seo peeps want to have a job in the future, as google is trying every method to try to push us out of the industry and soon they will succeed.
Never knows what time bring. Than can always be founded something better than Google. And if yes the new rules might be made considered and the whole rules in SEO would change. But still would be SEO. As long there is internet people like SEO specialist will always have something to do...
Tools cant replace humans. Its because tools can submit things but they can't make it in an intelligent way, they can store the information and can analyze it but can't implement it in a intelligent way, tools can bring visitors but not those unique and interested visitors around and not even in a large number....these are enough to explain you ,or you need some more reasons . And yes, one more point, experts never loses anything, be dynamic and be a master, no one can replace you
