Just read a thread on new search engines knocking Google off...hard to fathom if that's even possible considering the power of Google on the Web today. Is it best for SEO types to spend most of the time on Google or spread out the efforts?
Most of the techniques used by SEOers will work for whatever SE comes our way. If they don't, we'll adapt - it's been a fact of life in the SEO community for years that you have to be flexible to survive. But Google being challenged? Maybe by Yahoo or MSN, but G would have to screw up pretty bad to lose market share to either of those guys.
Google is like the microsoft of search engines. They are gigantic and will never go away. Google is even part of the English language. People say, "I will google that." I've never heard anyone say, "I am going to Yahoo or Ask that." It's part of the culture and it's not going anywhere any time soon.
again, I have to agree with seo ranter - Yahoo and MSN have seen better days, they both have an opportunity right now to cash and capture the SEO market because delay in Google's toolbar PR update, but they're both too stupid to notice webmasters as a critical mass on the web (in fact, Google seems to be forgetting about us)... Otherwise, whenever I'm looking for technical articles (ie: source code, systems administration info, etc) I use Teoma these days. Seem they turn better results for "educational" info than Google.
No one thought the giants of the past could fall either, then came google. All it takes is one guy with an innovative idea. No single web entity is safe from something better and more innovative coming along.
what do you mean with google killer? in my opinion, there is no google killer. google is allways changing
