Fussy New Link and Article Directory. Slow Approvals. High Quality Only

I've just created a new link and article directory.

At the moment, it doesn't have a page rank, but I'm doing a bit of article promotion for the main site, so hopefully the link juice will follow through with time.

The link directory is only for websites relating to being cheap, thrifty, saving money etc... Any submissions containing keyword stuff titles will be rejected.

For the articles, I'll be trying to follow an editorial policy close to ezinearticles. So unlike the other solicitations on this list, I won't be offering fast/instant approvals. But if you have good articles (they don't have to be unique, or relate to being cheap) then you should get some link juice in time.

If I haven't put you off by now, you can submit your links and articles at:

Thanks for the 100's of submissions so far.

    However...

    - please do not spam the title of your site with keywoards. Use the name of your site. If you website name is a load of keywords please do not submit it as I'll reject it.
    - please note that I do not press the reject button. I press the block IP button instead. So you'll need to change IP if you wanto to resubmit after a rejection.
    - please only submit sites related to saving money.

the web needs better article directories - directories that automatically weed out badly spun content.

Well, I'm just trying to produce a list of stuff useful to cheapskates. So far I think that I've only accepted 3 external submissions to the site. One was a video site, one was for property, and another for cheap phone cards. But most people submitting to directories are just stuffing titles with keywords. It's getting quite infuriating, as if I accept them my directory will just look like spam city.

Is it even worth running a directory?

not really. ezines etc now pretty much accept anything, as long as you 'subscribe' (pay them money).

If you're serious, you might want to think about bolting in software to automatically detect crap. Dyadvisor has some, I believe (although he may not want to share - I know we don't share our inhouse code).
