Hi, I have 3 funnel goals set up on my GA account to track purchases on my website. Each goal funnel consists of 4 pages, where pages 1 to 3 are different for each funnel, but page 4 (the goal page, which is a thank you page) is the same. When I go into my account, GA tells me that each goal has a conversion, though on closer inspection only goal A has a conversion (i.e. someone went from page 1 through to page 4); The other 2 goals are incorrectly showing that someone visited the thank-you page and this is registering as a conversion even though the visitors have not gone through the funnel. In other words, if someone completes goal funnel A, it is also showing up as a conversion on goal funnels B and C. Any idea why this happening? I have checked the 'required step' option on the first page of each of my goals, so visitors must at least visit page 1 of each goal to register as a conversion. It is unlikely that a visitor would visit page 1 of each goal funnel before converting, as they would have to visit different parts of the website, start and abandon the purchase process for very different things, before finally purchasing something. Thanks, Kam
this one may be the one which normally people navigate to thank you page for testing purpose , may be you should try with new funnel script . And you may need to check on broken pages as well ,
Hi Rarnet, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the conversions aren't from testing, as I'm the one who tested the page and the conversions aren't from the same period, and the pages do not seem to be broken, as I've tested the check-out process several times and they are distinct processes without broken pages or anyway to hop between process. Not sure what you mean by new funnel script? Is this some sort of new GA javascript that I need to install on page? I already have ga.js on it, so not sure what you mean. Since the pages are static and I don't need ROI or revenue tracking, I've just send the ga.js. Thanks, Kam
