Hi there, I have a friend and he's having some issues with Paypal. He regged a brand new account (non-US) and he "ordered" that four-digit number to be delivered in his credit card statement next month. He wants to fund the account he has now (unverified) but as an option there's only wire transfer (funding from a bank account). Is it possible to fund his account using the credit card he used to get those numbers? Thanks.
yup... was in the banking industry too long . He can do a cash advance on his credit card. Sometimes your credit card company will even give you cheques for your credit card... which simplified everything. If not... just got to the financial institution and they will tell you exactly what to do!
He's using it to verify it, but before he verifies it, is it possible to add funds from a credit card? There is only one option available - add funds from bank account.
1 - As you said, his account is unverified => he has not verified it yet 2 - If there is only 1 option for bank wire then he can not funds his acct using the card
yes it is possible to fund his account with his CC even if he is not verified.... just ask him to add the card and goto add the fund...
Paypal does not work like Moneybookers where you have to pre-load your account with money. Once you have a credit card linked to the paypal account, all you need to do is go about making your purchases like normal and if you do not have existing funds in your paypal account, it will allow you to use you your credit card to make up the difference. It works as a pass-through service so you do not need to maintain any balance in your paypal account. However if your paypal account is unverified then you will have a limit in the amount of money you can spend.
