Contest Fun easy Logo Contest - Paid instantly via PayPal - $25

This should be a great logo to develop, a lot of fun! I am sure you are all familiar with Android and android apps.

The site offers news about the latest android apps. The site needs to be professional and taken seriously, so my thought is to have a take on the android logo where the little green robot is sitting on a park bench reading a newspaper. Maybe he is wearing glasses (little round ones) or something to make him look serious / astute.

I am open to other ideas about a fun and creative way to have the android logo be serious and show that the site is a resource for apps. However with the name of the site, we felt a newspaper look might be ideal. For example maybe you just see the top of the head of the robot, and the glasses and then the newspaper(maybe little green fingers holder the newspaper). These are just ideas of a general approach we are looking for your creativity as well.

Please note that we cannot use the android robot exactly without our logo as this would be a copyright issues, so please create your own robot that looks similar.

The size of the logo is not set in stone, we have some flexibility, but in the realm of 327x133 would be ideal. The color scheme should be blue and green.

This contest is for 48 hours. We will award and pay instantly as soon as we see a design we like.

Of the entries at this point I feel Misterbadz is closest to what we are looking for. However, there are several we like and could be contenders with revisions. Below are our thoughts:

@Misterbadz - I am not sure the head of the droid is altered in anyway to avoid copyright issues. Thus, we would like to see glasses added and maybe eyeballs looking downwards towards the paper. This can be done very softly or muted. By this I mean the glasses can be light gray and thin so they are not very visible or detract from the image. The eyeballs can be small black dots at the bottom of the round white eyes. In other words do not re-invent what you have, just add to it in a way that keeps the integrity. Also, I feel that you could add some light grey lines on the newspaper to illustrate that there is text on it rather than just dark grey squares, again this should be done softly so it does not get to patterned. Lastly, it would be nice if you moved the droid and paper to the left a little and then created little green round balls to illustrate fingers on each side of the paper to that it looks like he is holding the paper.

@sikka2010 - Cool droid - but the round circle and the rest of it does not convey our message.

@brainsurgeon - Interesting entry. I like the droid, although I feel you could add little dots for eyes to show he is looking down at the paper. Also, I am not sure what he is sitting on? I feel this would look better if you either added a bench, or just removed the bench, legs, and grass and let it go with just the newspaper, hands and head. Also, please work on the font, maybe something more technology font related, computer code style, etc.

@sinuville - Cute design - well done. However, I do not feel it is authoritative enough for the look that we desire for this particular project.

@FallenShadow - I am just not sure what it is that doesnt appeal to me here, but I am luke warm on the entire look of this. I feel it may be that he is not facing the audience? Also, the font is a bit old school. However, I see your creative elements, and thank you for the entry.

@Razi3l - Sorry, this missed the mark for us. I do appreciate your efforts but it is a bit confusing to us.

Thanks for the FB moorisey. Well I was trying to show the guy sitting on a rock lol. Anyways I removed it and changed the fonts. Forts can be worked on more if the design is finalized.

@Brainsurgeon - Your updates are much appreciated and I feel that it is an upgrade from where it began. I will need to consider it a bit more.

@Jaz - I really like your entry. The droid guy / paper is spot on, but I felt that the text font selection is off. It needs to look a bit more like a computer font is the best way I can describe it.

@prudeinfotech - Sorry, I dont know what to say other than this is not a good fit, nor is it related due to the iPhone app store image.
