    Along with the above mentioned ideas. If your using firefox. Install this plugin (Colorzilla) 30 seconds and you have your color code. :)

    Sorry but your trick is perhaps the most complicated way to do it. I have also used Colorzilla for Firefox for a long time, works perfectly for this purpose. Here's another link for the addon: http://www.iosart.com/firefox/colorzilla/
