I just checked on twitter and an account is already registered by someone else with the Twitter handle of my first and second name but i still want to use my first name and surname for the handle, what do you suggest? A hyphen between the two names or something better?

Basically I think a hyphen between two names will be better.
I have already used a hyphen with my name on twitter.

In my opinion, Hyphen will be the good idea.
I have also used it with my name.
But you can also use (_) , hope it'll be fine.

A hyphen is good or even use three names, like first, middle, last. My name is Rhonda Grice but I could Use Rhonda Colby Grice. Colby was my name before Grice. In fact sounds good. Think I'll use it for my next Kindle book! :)

Yes go for (-) or (_) symbol. Using last 2 digits of phone number or birthdate could be a good idea as well.

I like underscores more than hypens, but they both work equally well. Another idea is to just add your middle initial or put your last name before your first.

Just found out that you cant use hyphen within username (username is the twitter handle if i understand this properly) i chose first and last name with 2 digit year of birth on the end, realise the display name i can still have as normal so thats good.

Im preferring to post more under my real name now online to take care with what i post and take responsiblity for what i post.
