Hello there, i am fixing my plugins in a blog and i am having an issue.

On my main page , when i publish an article , i want it to show only a part of if , lets say the first paragraph and not the whole post so i can effectively track what posts people read instead of having someone just view the main page and be able to read the whole article. Is there a plugin or an option i have to change in order to do that in wordpress? Thank you in advance. Angelos

use <!--more--> in between the posts so that all the text before it would show up in main index page and rest would be in post page only.

use <!--more--> or else click this button [IMG] from your dynamic toolbar on the perfect end of the chosen paragraph.

You manually add it in your posts, not in sidebar.php. The wordpress editor also has an icon for more, if you don't want to type it out. There are plugins available for the purpose too, like this one Evermore.
