I suppose BID is an English word and stands for a price, buyer is willing to pay...It is not a short form of any sentence like BIN(buy it now).

Lol. I can understand your situation as I was myself very confused and unaware of these terms in the beginning, for a long time.

Bid stand for an amount of money that the buyer is proposing at that time.

Bin stands for Buy It Now. It means that the seller is willing to sell the stuff at this particular price directly. No other bids would matter and you will be able to secure the stuff at that price.

If you find it complex, please let me know and I would try to explain it in simpler terms. :D

BID is =bis in dei, which means twice a day in Latin, used by doctors to tell the patient to take the medicine two times a day. :D

I think your medical knowledge comes in handy when it comes to expanding the acronyms like BID, TID etc... :D
