Full Blown Business FS

OK so I am fairly new to selling an entire business but I recently started getting involved in large investments and Real Estate. Any of you who are familiar with this you know its very time consuming. I simply just don't have time for this small business I started and it has been sitting on a back burner for a couple months just doing the sales of return customers. No advertising has been done lately and I hate to see it not do well so I figured I would see if someone would be interested in lighting the flame! SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY!

There are no machines or printers you have to deal with and there is almost no overhead. What I did was I started designing business cards for friends and got in touch with 2 great printing companies. I get Awesome discounts with them with my broker account so I decided to start a full blown business. So I did, i called it JMF Printing. I offer all kinds of products from business cards to posters and flyers... (see the complete list on the site) I had a full website designed by digital effex media and I have been doing quite well for about a year and a half. The site is a little less than a year old.
So how does this work? Basically as you now know I have the printing done by another company. As for the design I have 2 designers that I found on the internet that do freelance work. They do the design for me, and the printer prints it for me. I am just collecting the money, (thats a broker) I in turn pay the printer and the designer and mark the prices up for the customer so that I can make a profit. I did some advertising through Yahoo and googles pay per click. I also sponsored some photoshop pod-casts back in march, so the website address was all over itunes pod-casts.

What's included:

-The website (there is also an admin section where the owner can jump in and edit sales and customer info as well as view and complete sales)

-All the email addresses (so you don't miss any emails and its a seamless transaction, you can always create new ones)
-Hosting paid for till August of 2008 believe
-My sources and account info with the company that I have a broker account through
-The web site designers info for any questions
-I will personally walk you through ANYTHING for the first week... questions, issues, or I will help make changes to the best of my knowledge.

There is very little overhead for this business, I ran it from home and made great money for the little time and money I put into it. I have invested well over $10,000 between the site, the advertising and other little odds and ends. It is all set up and ready for someone else to take over. Just advertise and go pretty much. It doesn't cost anything to run except maybe a Business phone line and any advertising you decide to do. I can give you some info I what worked well.

I hope to see this take off. I will not sit here and tell you you can make 4 million dollars a day like some infomercial but I will tell you that if you have time and money to advertise... possibilities are endless! You can change the prices however you want. You could easily make 6 figures after a couple years... Possibilities are endless!

is this company incorporated? also, are there assets?

 

No it's a sole proprietorship right now, you can incorporate it at anytime I believe. As far as assets there really isn't much besides the website, which can be transferred over to the new owner. I also have some samples and manilla envelopes that I use for sending out samples. (you will see there is a request samples button on the site)

I also wanted to point out that I will include all existing customers artwork as well that is saved in our database. We have done large orders for Verizon Fios, salons, Optimumhoodia.com and a ton more. It would be interesting to see some proof of sales. I know screenshots of traffic would be good... and where your referrers come from... also... transaction shots... do you offer these? Is the gross sales 10k?

Why couldn't anyone just do this themselves? What exactly are you selling if there are no business assets?

 

Someone could do this themselves, looking for a supplier to get things at a good price and also keep your prices competitive. If you look my prices are very competitive and I am making good profit on each product, which means I am getting everything A Lot cheaper! You are buying the whole set up. The site, my source, the advertising I put into it and about 40 customers and their artwork and designs to keep for reorders. Some customers include Verizon Fios, We did about 16 sets of business cards for them, a salon that does HUGE orders through us and also omptimumhoodia. com has done alot. I also just got referred to the marketing Dept. on Fuse tv (which is like another MTV here in the US) and there is a 95% chance they will be doing a lot of overflow printing through me. The possibilities are endless, all the new owner has to do is advertise effectively and they will make the buying price back in months.... or less! I figured if anyone knew how to get this site advertised it would be some of the members of this site.

 

If you are possibly landing such a big deal, why sell? Would you sign a non-compete?

 

Yes, I have stated I am getting into Real Estate.... This big deal wont get the time and attention it needs from me. I will definitely sign a non-compete to assure you I am not going to be going and launching another site and competing with the new owner. That will be included in the contract.
