FTP Uploading Wordpress Plugins Question

How come some Wordpress plugins upload fine and can be activated right away, while others do not even show up to be activated? The files show they are there, but they do not show up in the Wordpress plugins management to activate?

Is there a trick to making them upload properly using FTP?

    Thanks,

    Chad

This has happened to me once.

Once I unzipped the plugin, I sent it to the desktop. I then opened my FTP and sent over the plugin to my host. When I went to activate it in Wordpress, there was no plugin to be found. I went to check the file, and realized that the folder for the plugin was contained in another folder.

So just try to delete the folder that contains the plugin.

Perhaps the plugin isn't compatible with the version of WP you are using.
