FTP: The maximum number of hosts for this user are already connected?

    I've been uploading to a client's website, hosted by Dreamhost.

    Now when I try to FTP I get these errors:

    < 530 Sorry, the maximum number of hosts (7) for this user are already connected.

    What does it mean and how to fix it? Is there 7 people connected to the server?

    From the message, it seems that there are 7 people already connected using the same FTP user. You can use another FTP username or you will need to close the connections which are already in used.

    Yes that's what I thought! So I better ask the host to change the username? Maybe the problem is to do with my Leechftp and the timeouts? But surely after 4+ days the connection would close itself?

    Yes, if you are still facing the problem, you will need to contact your hosting provider. If you do not use FTP connection for 4 days then it should be closed automatically.

    Yes you're right..it closed itself after 3 days (Dreamhost)
