The same here. And I think WSFtp is equally good.

I use SmartFTP, and find it easy enough not to bother trying others. But I believe most are good enough.

Depending on your FTP usage style, you will like either FileZilla or SmartFTP. Filezilla is excellent if you work on one site at a time. But if you could be working on multiple sites at once like uploading files on one and FTP'd into another looking for a file to edit, then SmartFTP is better.

Another option is to go to download.com (CNET site) and search for FTP software and you can sort by user rating, cnet editor rating (not always the best method), total downloads, etc.

    Right now on download.com:

Cute FTP has the most downloads.
A lot of programs tied for first place on user rankings, of which none were Filezilla or SmartFTP
CNET Editors gave first place to Filezilla, but listed a lot of unrelated programs prior to that listing. That is why I said this was not the best method.

You could also try googling FTP software and see who comes up in the natural rankings, as this would indicate a lot of backlinks to the download link.

Also check out the ones above the natural rankings... this is usually the best ads on Google. The ones to the right tend to be more sales driven... and the ones at the top seem to be more closely related to what you are looking for. At least that has been my experience in searching for anything else on google.

    Hope that helps.

I used to use their HTML editor. Very dreamweaver like. Do they have their own standalone FTP application? Or are you talking about something built in to the HTML editor?

I don't use one anymore. I just use windows explorer. Saves hassle. But if i do use one i use fire-ftp or whatever. The plugin for firefox.

I suggest for FileZilla. It's free, easy and fast!
