I have been having a problem all day with my FTP. It's turning all of my files into gibberish and consequently crashing my sites or they display the same gibberish.

It started with Fire FTP today...I did a simple edit of a file and when I saved it, this is what displayed on the website and page source:
So I tried to upload the original file, minus the edits and got the same thing.
I checked all of my settings, it is set to "Auto" not ASCII. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, restarted and everything else that I could think of. Still the same.

I upload perfectly good files and when I open them up, they look like this:
I have no idea what is going on.
So after 2 years of using this FTP program with no problems, I decided to scrap it and buy one...now I can't log in.

    I keep getting this message:

what editor you are using ? make a test with notepad

does it happen only when you download > edit > upload ?
I hope that your file editor is not messing up things

try just downloading and uploading a file (without opening and making any edits in it)

Tried different FTP programs, contacted my ISP, My Wireless ISP and did every troubleshooting imaginable. No change.
I have narrowed it down to a problem with the host. It's only stripping .php, html, .css, and other coded files and replacing code with gobbledygook.

Images, and plain text files are O.K.

Waiting for a response. 2 days that i can't work or even administer my own websites, with no explanation:mad:

change your default upload to Binary, instead of ACII or whatever its called. if its a php script you may need Ioncube or Zend optimizer. good luck,

Problem solved via tech support of my hosting company...had something to do with my rotating IP address and the servers security protocols. Got it fixed now.
    Thanks for the replies.
