FTP loading of .htaccess file

I'm forced through one on my hosts to use FTP to change the .htaccess file.

If I put in the line:

    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .htm .html

per instructions, I get a security validation error whenever I go to the main URL

    weatheralertradios.com

I have change the "AddType" to "AddHandler" . This does not work, but allows the site to be viewed. However, the co-op ads do not show up.

    Could you help.

Most likely your server does not support the directive via .htaccess

    Shawn-

Thanks. I did switch to one with c-panel, and it worked (super-quick this time instead of 3 hours figuring out problems). Thanks!

    FYI !!!!!

It did not originally work with the "AddType" in the .htaccess (gives security error) - which has happened to me several times. But, I changed it to "AddHandler" and it worked like a charm.
