ftp help

i want to upload new themes and plugins.but iam unable to do so because when ever i am trying to login fire fto client.it is displaying login incorrect.why?what is the problem?

 

did you enter the login info correctly? if so,log into your cpanel and create another ftp user ,then try again.

 

Are you using the same user name and password for ftp of c-panel?? Most of the times they are same untill you have set them saperate or changed them.

I think its because you dont enter it correctly. Are you using any ftp software??? like cute ftp and all??
How do you try to login ftp://usernamepass@xyz.com or using the login window from file ----> login

Try i mean go to file ----> login enter your user pass ----> login


Or another simple method is compress the folder containing plugin and themes to .zip folder. Go to cPanel ----> file manager and upload those .zip folders -----> then extract files.

Dont know about iPower havent used them.

Any ways to unzip a zip file

Go to cPanel -----> File manager -----> check out the various icons on the top saying upload edit deleate edit using HTML etc...... in thet there will be a zip symbol saying Extract ---> Click on it and wait till its unzipped.

 

use any good ftp clients. dont you have cpanel with your host ?

 

i suggest you use filezilla as a ftp software. very simple yet powerful. very simple to login and you can ftp your file as easy as drag and drop.

 

it is available in firefox?
