    hello

i used to download at my maximum home speed from my dedicated server, but suddenly now I'm only getting 10KB/s download speed through FTP, i tried both FileZilla and SmartFTP but both gave my this low speed.
have you any idea how to get it back up to what it used to be ? (more then 100KB/s)

check the ftp software setting and make sure their is no speed limit on them. also check your server setting for ftp

If you haven't change any settings with the FTP programs check if there any other program or a malware running in background, you can detect this by checking your upload & download speed with no activity, If you detect any then that will be the problem. If not try re installing.

This isn't caused by anything in your ftp settings. This issue is caused by your hosting provider. Please make a support ticket with them and tell them something is wrong with server speeds.

    hello

i tried downloading through HTTP and it indeed downloaded at the highest speed.
i don't think it's a hosting provider problem, also I'm running DU Meter so there's nothing using my bandwidth in the background.
speed limit are set to 0 (unlimited)
It seems the problem is limited to FTP

The only way that I can think of to do this would be to change the port the FTP server listens on, as your host is more than likely throttling port 21. Maybe also try using a secure FTP client, like WinSCP, as it connect using the SSH port.
