I just ran across a Yahoo article that stated that the FTC is soliciting statements, and reaction to its plans to provide oversight for online sales and marketing methods.

    http://www.ftc.gov/os/2008/11/P034520endorsementguides.pdf

This 86 page document says that net websites and the blogosphere is an unregulated area fraught with peril for consumers, and they are planning to require full disclosures and any endorsements will require substantiation.

What measures would you suggest would be the best way to address this on affiliate sales websites, article reviews, and even retail product claims.

Although this is a current article on Yahoo, the deadline for providing text responses was six months ago. Has anyone developed any type of legalese or disclosure statements that could be placed in a link down by the Privacy Policy, or can anyone recommend the best source for this type of legal statement?

A lot of the CPA offers are getting pretty specific that you do not include any claims not on their website. This is a result of all teh Acai berry hype and scams.
