FS: Proxy Network - 34 domains - $1732.68 revenue, BIN $450 - Quick Sale

It is time for me to sell my proxy network, which was created mid September 2008. This has brought in total revenue of $1732.68 and consists of roughly 34 domains. Most of the information is in the spreadsheet at http://www.schoolsaver.info/sale/revenue.xls . This network is still consistently pulling in revenue from its base of loyal users, even though the last round of advertising was done in November last year. All sites run on Glype 0.5xx.

DOMAINS

The following domains are used by the proxy network and are registered at Go daddy. Half will expire on the 9/13/09 and half on 10/16/09. All domains will be transferred to the buyers account with the exception of openpulse.com, which will not be sold to the new owner. However I will point the domain to the buyers designated name server for a minimum of 2 months, more than enough time to redirect the traffic to a new domain.

TRAFFIC

Analytics is installed to be tracked through one website profile. In the last month, there have been 48,850 visits and 71,648 page views. The Majority of traffic is from the US (35,512 visits past 31 days) with the rest scattered among other countries (2nd is Poland, with 1443 visits past 31 days). I have placed a server wide block on 12 countries using GeoIP (China, Iraq, Nigeria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Antigua and Barbuda, Malaysia, Indonesia, Chile, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Russia). Anyone knowledgeable on proxies will realize that this boosts their profit as traffic from these countries is near worthless. The main selling point of this network is the large amount of American traffic. Due to neglect, I have not been able to monetize correctly, so with some thought and action this network could be returned to previous revenue, as the sites are receiving a decent chunk of traffic from the USA. I have valuable links on a single site (disclosed to buyer) bringing a few thousand US visitors a month due to listing on the topsite when it was young, and it has since grown into a popular proxy list site.

SERVER REQUIREMENTS

The network is hosted on a website from HostDime (http://www.hostdime.com). It costs $120 a month, however this is overkill (if you want to take over the server to avoid site migration this can be arranged). If you already own your own proxy network and dedicated server there would be minimal cost to run this network. You could use a higher end VPS for half that price, as I did not get round to finding a new host after revenue died down. Cpanel reports that 194GB has been used in May, while my host says that it has used 3.25 megabits per second.
I have postponed paying for the server for this month until the network is sold, so I am in need of a quick and easy sale. I will give the option to the buyer to take over the server from the provider or I can transfer it to a new server. I will give full access to my server, or I can transfer the sites to a new server if the buyer wishes. This includes everything except country blocks via GeoIP. I can do this for an extra $10 on top of the final price, as this takes a while to do correctly.

REVENUE

WHY AM I SELLING

I am selling the network for two reasons. Firstly, I am in the process of developing a new website and want to focus solely on that. The second reason is that my PayPal account is low and I need to pay the freelancers for their work on my new website. Although I don’t do active maintenance or promotion, I have to frequently check that the server is operational and earnings are steady.

ADVICE

I would recommend this network to anyone looking to either expand their proxy network or take on a new one. If you currently have a proxy server this network could provide a nice revenue boost with little further expense or server cost. The revenue has been steady with absolutely no advertising done since November last year.

Update: I am looking for offers for a quick sale. Please PM any serious offers ($100+) and I will consider them. Some may think that the asking price is steep, however keep in mind that the earnings have been steady with no advertising or promotion done since November 2008. I would rather sell these proxies to spend time on my new project, however if that does not work out I will move them to a cheaper host and let them be.
