FS: Established PR 3 Poker Site w/Unique Software to Sell

Discussion in 'Sites' started by Teetster, Jan 8, 2007.

I spend most of my time playing now, so I really haven't had time to grow and market this site to its fullest potential.

The site I am selling is:

    http://www.HoldEmToolShed.com/

It is a poker related web site, that I have used to sell a custom written piece of software I created called the Hold Em Assistant.

The site has a PR of 3 on the main URL. As it stands I have it setup to forward you to the Geeklog CMS that contains the content for the site. The main Geeklog page shows a PR 0 right now. I'm not sure why that is. You can verify the rank of the main site at:

    http://www.pagerankaudit.com/

    Site Information for www.holdemtoolshed.com/:
Below is the report on the URL. It shows its current Google Page Rank,
Backlink count and Alexa site rating.

    + Google PageRank is 3
    + Alexa Rank of 4,487,056
+ It has an average of 92 backlinks

The site currently averages about 300 visitors per day. The software trial I offer gets about 1-2 dozen downloads per day.

You can see the statistics of the site since inception here:

    http://www.HoldEmToolShed.com/statistics/

Revenue from Adsense is only a few dollars a month. The main source of
revenue is the software that I wrote and sell, called the Hold Em Assistant.
It is a unique odds and hand analysis tool for Texas Hold Em:

    http://www.holdemtoolshed.com/site/staticpages/index.php?page=20060714132115
    812

There is a free trial on the site that has had a lot of download traffic.
The download is listed on a number of sites including Download.com
($9.99/month and the only paid listing), TuCows, and many, many others. You can see a lot of traffic from download sites in the referrers in the statistics.

I sell the full version of the Hold Em Assistant for $45, and have sold about a dozen copies in the past 4 months. I've also done auctions selling it on ebay for $15 of $10 a number of times. I did this partially to produce traffic and partially to get it out there.

    Included in the sale are:

-The site, content, database and domain name.

-Full source code (Java), a built MSI installer for the trial
and a built MSI installer for the full version of the Hold Em Assistant.

-Exclusive resale rights to the software and the ability to edit it as you see fit. I will retain the right to use and develop the software for my own use. (I
    use it regularly.)

I will do this as an auction sale. Starting bid is $250, BIN is $1250. I will close bidding Wednesday 7pm Pacific Time. I prefer Paypal for payment.

Please let me know if you have questions that I can answer about the sale.

    Thanks - Brian

Why are the majority of the search term referrals from Google pharmacy and drug related keywords?

Would you give the new owner any support in case a bug in the software poped up?

Spammers were using a flaw in Geeklog to insert spam comments for a while. I removed them all, but interestingly the site got spidered and on occasion gets hits on those terms. Strange isn't it?

Anyway, the new version of the SpamX plugin takes care of that, you just have to add the term to filter.

    Thanks - Brian

Yes, I'll offer bug fix support for the software as delivered for 30 days after the sale. (Or longer if need be.) Its been out for a while and no bugs are known.

    Thanks - Brian

For the software, it looks like the users enter their cards manually?

Yes, users enter in cards manually. I had a lot of ideas for doing screen scraping clients and auto-picking cards. I just never got to it. You'll have the code so you could add that in if you saw fit.

Oh and thanks for the bid!

    Thanks - Brian

There are no legal issues because I'm not taking wagers on the site.

Also, I have a bid at the BIN price. ($1250) I am waiting to hear back from the bidder to finalize the deal. If it does not work out I will post back here.

The bidder I had at BIN may not be able to complete the sale. For those that contacted me previously, please contact me via PM or here with your offers if you are still interested.
