i have a broadband isp plan, and it has a dynamic ip address(changes every few days) and the frustrating thing is,when I have browsed some sites it says my ip address has been banned, but i've never visited those sites before. This means if someone's ip address is banned, and then your isp dynamically assigns you that same ip address, you are banned, even though you didn't do anything. I guess the only way around this is to get a static ip address right? Is it possible for the ISP's to keep records of who they assign the dynamic ip addresses to? Or can isp's only tell who is using the IP address currently and NOT who Previously used the ip address? If they can tell who previously used it,how far back can they go?
