Directory submissions are not easy. I am going through an excel list of about 3 thousand sites / directories compiled by merging listings from various sites, so far it is taking a lot longer than I expected. It may be worthwhile to pay someone to do the submissions for you.
Chech this: "http://www.freerelevantlinks.com/PaidDirectoryRankings.aspx" ... yes is boring, but is a require
Ive tried them .... its not good. You have to wait a couple of months to see 5 links to your site; and i had links applied to every single page of mine. So decided to go on a different direction (article submissions)....
For link building, its not about what techniques you use. There're only a number of techniques for building one-way links. Likely everyone here knows all of them. It's really about how you use each technique. The devil is in the details. For instance, we are able to rank competitive keywords (keywords that are searched half million times a month) in top 10 across all three search engines in most of time using the techniques everyone knows about. For directory submissions, the keyword to success is to "submit right site to right directories to right category at right time". For instance, if you're trying to submit to PR7+ directories, the approval rate is probably less than 1-5%. For article submissions, it's really not about SUBMISSIONS. Your article really need to offer original THOUGHTS, Not just uniuqe (but useless) content or search engine food. This involves a lot of research, creativity and use right and repeatable processes. Good articles will get your high PR links from respected websites (not just article sites). An average article will only get links from article sites with which the value will fade quickly. Link building can be boring, or fun if you do it creatively.
why the shit isnt google picking up the links to my site?? is it banned or blocked in bad books! or what!!!!!!!! I AM REALLY getting frustrated!!!!!!!! Its the same site as on my siggy
Ive also tried freerelevantlinks links, I have waited over a month and dont have any links from them. You can no longer contact them to find out why you have no links (option removed)! I started another thread about this site as I have a feeling that its a pyramid scam!
Do think that you need to build thousands of links. They are many examples of sites with 200 odd links ranking for very competitive keywords in google. To rank high in google you require quality links. Getting links in directories is a good idea, but adding lots of low quality links may now harm you position in google, especially if it is in the first year of so. Paid directories and buying links from other quality relevant sites will help you gain the trust needed to rank high.
Well, if you are getting something like 1% success rate in reciprocal link building then you are doing something wrong, please give us an example of your e-mail to relevant site. E-mail should be personal (have name or just something not very "template"). Also if it template do not make it sounds like from robot Short and to the point is best. Also be sure to send e-mails from something like and also follows link instructions of site you want to contact about link. Average rate of success in reciprocals something like 10% actually. It maybe of course something like 5-8% or 20% or even more, but 1% really bad. Do directory submissions for first to gain some pagerank. Other sites will be more likely agree to exchange links then. Be sure that your link page have no more than 40-50 links on it. Make several pages if you still need to place links first and people still not reply about them (it may take up to 1 month, if later - simply delete the link) Your link page url needs to be SE friendly and pass PR. Avoid make it dynamic url. Place on your link page "link to me" info and promise reciprocal when someone place link to you and let you know about it. Keep only relevant links on link pages. Be sure to save contact info of other sites correct you may mispell URL or e-mail and miss potential link. You can also spent money on PHPLD (assuming you already spent so much , $25 more will not make you poor I think), setup directory, gave it some PR and try 3-way link exchange. Helps great. Avoid any link exchange services, almost all of them pure BS , only linkmetro was good for me, all other have no relevant sites almost or just have very low quality sites. Not sure about link LinkVault, have not tried it. You may consider ARELIS or LinkAssistant if you wish (you already using IBP, so have ARELIS in new version), however automating this process without manual afterwork will not show great results. May consider hire freelancer to do so work (however you get what you pay for, don't forget). Hope that helps, if not let me know if you have any questions.
And I forget, keep good and with common sense urls with keywords on your site and build good sitemap and link structure. No one want to have link to him burried under 10 cliks from homepage.
what if you have a site that isn't really built to host other links other than the people advertising with you. I wan't to get back links but, the way my site is built it has to stay clean and has no place to really have multiple links.
Brandon, then you need to obtain only one-way links, start from directories submission , then write some articles and submit them to sites which accepts them (be sure to include your backlink) and do your best while working with content of your site (it must be really good and unique). Then collect decent list of sites where you want backlink (and still do not have) and try to describe them why it will be cool for them to place link to you.
I agree with SEOLinker. Start with directory submission, then article submissions and then reciprocal links. You can also join link networks.
I've been reading this thread and to int_josh for what it is worth...every seo shares in your compaints! But I think quite often when you have something dynamic happening (links from quality relevant sites and directories, blogs, viral marketing) you get momentum and traffic eventually. SeoLinker, you have some really good advice. I thank you. Int_Josh, and I speak to myself as well, what u need to employ is perseverance. Make sure you are making the right sort of sites in the right types of markets and just stick at it. Results should come. Try and look ahead. I get frustrated too and want to give up when I see my adsense acc sometimes. Just keep her lit!
Thanks, David! I am going to Adsense this autumn, hope to reach $100 a day in 1 year, I'll see how it will be going) Maybe not, but at least worth trying! You need to try Wordtracker to find right keywords for adsense sites, if you still don't do it. I can predict that if 3 sites in your signature, then only 1 of them pay something decent comparing with 2 others
I personally suggest straight-up networking. Get to know people in your niche... hang out wherever they hang out. Become a part of the group, create meaningful content related to your niche, and people will link to it. I have found this to be much more productive than sending out a bajillion e-mails in the hope of getting a link. Just become part of the community (I know, it's easier said than done, but so is anything worth doing!) It really does work And it'ss true, you dont need thousands of links... I'm ranking quite well with just a few hundred – but they have to be quality. Hope this helps...
