frustrated with ppc- rant

I have tried so many different methods with pay per click ads its rediculous! Google is too expensive, yahoo denies all my keywords (some were keywords that they put through for one page but deny for the exact page but on a differnt domain!), miva gave me CRAP traffic (something like 80 clicks in a day with almost no conversion!) and it seems its the same with ask.com... wtf!
The only ppc that I get good results with is overture but they are such tight a**es when it comes to keywords... its like I'm begging them to take my money... not to mention having to wait 3 days to find out they were all denied!
    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Today I signed up for ask and within about 1 hour received 70 clicks (where are these clicks coming from? It would take 3 days to get that many with my keywords on overture)... I saw nothing on my adsense... now thats crazy cause with overture traffic I have click through rates of like 40-60%. I thought my ads were going to be on Ask.com... but all my traffic came from another site (trafficology or something).

What in your opinions are the top ppc sites? Does anyone actually get any good traffic with the lower search engines... like ask, 7search etc?

    Any tips would be great!

I've only had success with AdWords, Overture, and AskJeeves. AskJeeves brought limited traffic, but maintinaed conversion. From my experience with all the other PPC providers, all they sent were what must have been fradulent clicks, because conversion were few and far between. Bear in mind this experience was from about a year ago, when I worked as the PPC Marketing Manager for a marketing company. I was running 700,000+ keywords for 30+ campaigns, so I felt the info I had one what providers worked and what didn't was pretty good.

I left before MSN came out with their offering, so I can't speak to that, but from what I've heard it works.

Stay away from Ask! They are pimping their customers out hard to their crappy partner network. Findology traffic converts at 0:0 for me and has had a 0% CTR on my landing pages. I don't know what the hell you have to do to actually get into the Ask.com results. I've tried multiple campaigns with different terms and CPCs and none have showed up, all I would get is partner traffic.

Last time I used Ask was over 6 months ago, right after it came out. I was getting traffic at 1/5 the cost of google or overture, but getting 1/10 the traffic or less/ but the conversion rate was comparable to google's. sounds as though they've gone downill since I stopped using them

I would recommend getting a good tracking system in place, either one of your own or a commercially available one.

I will through out a nugget and say that within the next month I will be offering a web based FREE PPC tracking application that will give you keyword level reporting on conversions and return on advertising spend. It will roll out enabled for google and overture. if there's a good response, my partners and I will grow it.

Bear in mind it's going to be rough around the edges, but it will give you the reports and info you need to make your keyword level marketing decisions.

You can see read more at www.SyteSurge.com

I built an alpha app, but over the last 6 months have been working with a seasoned development partner to rebuild on a .NET platform.

    Stay tuned!
