it's so frustrating when someone just doesn't tell you what's going on over the other side. i hired a writer, and deposited a ton of cash in escrow. right after i deposited the money, she disappeared. i was contemplating if i should hire another writer, and ask escrow for refund. i held on a little longer, but offered the task to someone who was on my waiting list. right after i did that, she sent me an email and said she completed part of the work and was ready to send it over. told me to take a look. problem is, there weren't any attachments. just email. never heard from her anymore after that. strange thing was...even my writer who was on the waiting list, who periodically sent me emails to ask if the spot is open (seems very interested), disappeared after i emailed him the task details. what's wrong with my world?
What was the amount that was involved ?? I generally do not see escrow being used unless the amount is quite large- so I assume the amount of the contract was greater than 250 $ . Did you have an agreement with the first write regarding the time frame in which the articles were to be completed ?? And the email which she sent to you didn't have the ' part work' which she said that she had completed ?? I assume that both your writers are in the pink of health right- I mean no family emergency or health problems or things like that ........ Non communication sucks, simply because you don't know whether you are going to get the work done or not.
five hundred miserable dollars. yes, 10 a month. but we agreed that i'll be flexible, and that as long as she's reasonable, she can take time off. nope. happens to me quite often too, forgetting to attach anything to it. no, i don't suppose so too. i gave her an ultimatum. reply in 4 days time or i'll file a dispute with guru and hire another writer. she's a GREAT writer, but if she cannot communicate i'll be better off hiring someone else.
If you use a site like rentacoder whomever you chose to do a project has to check up and post an update once a week... if they dont (even though the money is in escrow) you have the option to continue with them or you can select someone else. Just a thought... -SS
