Hey Everyone, Right now I am using my HTML editor through my hosting server. It totally sucks because it constantly removes pieces of my html code which cause graphic glitches. Does anyone know of any good quality html editors for free or low in price. I want to just offline edit my files then upload them. Anyone suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also, I keep receiving this consistent glinch on my html code check out http://www.doc1vitamins.com on an IE browser. I can not figure out why my image has shifted. If you look at the other pages that problem does not occur. Thanks So Much Vibes
http://www.kompozer.net/features.php plus side its free also Mozilla is what firefox was based on so follows web standards well(ish)
It'll follow it only as well as the person coding in it. Perosnally though, I use Edit+ - it's free to try for 30 days, includes syntax highlighting, a spell check feature (you have to download the dictionary depending on whether you use American English or the Queen's English), FTP client, and so many other features, including tabbed documents and the ability to save and load entire projects at once. You "can" use it for free after the initial 30 days, but it'll nag you to pay $30 for the registration code if you do - and frankly, if you can save a dollar a day, you should be able to afford this hands down.
I just download PageBreeze.. I guess I will try it out for a couple days if its kind of lame when I will check out HTML kit. I just wanted a simple HTML editor because the one built into the server is annoying me to death. It like refreshes old code so my edits get altered. Does anyone know why my site image is skewed? http://www.doc1vitamins.com I think its relating to the images being shifted. I don't see that same problem on the other pages. Help would be greatly appreciated.
both look consistent in IE and firefox where the banner it's a bit off to the left.. In Opera the banner is centered. And that stat counter go to go.. off screen. It doesn't look good. The images might be better if optimized. Other wise it looks good. And why not use firebug? It's free it has code coloring. I'm sorry not being able to help much <^_______^;
I mainly use DreamWeaver, have since 98, but recently I´ve trying Kompozer (FREE). kompozer.net/ . For some reason it works really great with CSS templates, and does everything very well. No installation required, just execute from file and ready. Hope it works.
Frontpage is a piece of CRAP. As in the kind that gets left in a brown paper bag and set on fire on some unsuspecting person's doorstep.
Notepad ++ is very good. U can select what language your coding in (from HTML to C+) and is a very good editor, and free. I use that and Dreamweaver.
Edit plus is the best, you can toggle from the design page to the code page in one click. Notepad is ok but I find it time consuming opening a new browser to check your work. Hope this helps, God bless.
