Frustrated with color shifts from CMYK to RGB conversion

I'm having issues with a logo and the color shift that results from the CMYK to RGB conversion. I had originally given the designer a hex of a color I liked, but I keep getting a file where the color looks different, even though the CMYK values appear to be right, given the hex. (2C93FE hex = C69 M38 Y0 K0)

If I understand things correctly, one usually wants to pick a CMYK value that has an RGB equivalent (or near equivalent) for web use, so that when anything with the logo is printed, say business cards, flyers, what not, the color appears consistent across all the mediums (web, print). I don't see how any consistency can be kept if the color shift in the conversion from CMYK to RGB is so common. I can't imagine that designers stare at a color chart all day looking for an RGB hex that matches a logo designed in CMYK, right? It's just frustrating, because I can go to any number of websites and see a clear effort to coordinate colors in the logo with colors on the site, but being able to do so on my own site continues to elude me.

I even picked a CMYK value from this site: http://www.logoorange.com/color/color-codes-chart.php hoping to minimize any color shift issues, but no such luck.

Is there anything that can be done?

    #2C93FE = C83 M42 Y0 K0

Try those, it's not exact (not all RGB converts exactly to CMYK), but its close than the one you're using now.

I usually use the warning icons that show up in the color picker if its not web/print safe. I click them around until its a color that works with both.
