Frustrated Newbie Not Converting

Discussion in 'Affiliate Programs' started by hunka27, May 6, 2009.

I am getting decent traffic through twitter and craigslist but I am not converting at all...

I feel like i have the right tools to generate the traffic but not the right products to sell...

I really need to find some quality products. There's plenty of affiliate programs but there seems to be a lot of garbage too... can anyone suggest affiliate programs for regular promotion and also some kind of adult affiliate program...

What products are you promoting? Do you have a website or you're linking directly to the product?

The most common mistakes people make are selling instead of pre selling. Try not to give your reader a sales pitch which will make the person trust you less. try to provide quality information. i always try to provide all relevant information and I get nice conversions.
It would also benefit you if you have an authority

Well, a lot of twitter traffic is unproductive is you ask me.

Craigslist is not bad for traffic bbut you have to use it right..

Why don't you try article marketing?

I tried promoting stock robots and registry fixes, and on the adult side, imlive...

I have just been sending them to my hoplinks. for clickbank products i generated 380 hops total, imlive about 180.

eBusinessCorporate, what do you mean by an authority?

The problem with your traffic sources is that it sucks. Yes, I know it's possible to get some targeted traffic from Twitter and Craigslist, but overall the traffic is about as valuable as that coming from MySpace.

I'd work on getting better targeted traffic from places like Google and direct traffic from popular niche blogs.

You submit articles relevant to the products you're trying to promote to directories like Ezine to get your traffic. You know the traffic is targeted, and if they followed your link they are more likely to convert. Submit many articles everyday, optimizing for long-tailored keywords, and you'll get many backlinks too.

Craigslist traffic doesn't suck. You just need to learn how to use it.

Too many people go on there spamming people with affiliate links, and that's that. Of course, this would work great when it first came out.

You have to really try to BE who your pretending to be, and no you don't need to sell cam shows. I've made some money pretending to be a personal trainer offering a free ecourse..

P.S. not saying google traffic isn't good

I suggest that you build your website, write high quality content and do SEO to drive traffic to your website.

    1. Do you have a site or are you just sending out your affiliate links??
    2. Build trust with people
    3. Focus on a niche of the same product. Provide INFO. Tell, don't sell. People know when you're just trying to make a sale.

True, craigslist traffic doesn't suck, but in my experience, doesn't convert well.

Have you looked at your not-converting problem from the other perspective - like, the design of your landing page?
