Hi there, Over the past month, I've been learning about SEO, building backlinks and writing original articles. There is a particular keyword I wish to rank well for, I am currently in #5 but I would like to rank higher. What annoys me are two competitors who rank higher than me: They don't have the keyword anywhere on their sites. They both have very simple static sites. I have more ( and better ) backlinks than them I have more relevant (dynamic) content I have better keyword density Somehow google ranks their site above mine, so I'm quite frustrated at why this is. All the sites (including mine) has been indexed by Google. The only shortfall I have is that My domain is 6 months old, while theirs are 6 years old. Can anyone shed some light on why this is? Thanks,
Domain age is huge. I've noticed that the threshold is 1 year - I've seen sites cross the 1 year old mark and then suddenly perform a LOT better for their target keywords than they did previously.
