froogle and awstats

Froogle is not appearing in my awstats , does anyone has the same problem?

any workarounds?

 

Apparently Awstats by default only recognises Google websearch and imagesearch. I've just tried to add froogle to the list of recognized bots, should work this was:

Locate lib/search_engines.pm.

At the top of the file add froogle to @SearchEnginesSearchIDOrder_list1 like this:

'froogle\.google\.',

Code (markup):

Do a search for "google_image". It should appear three times in the file. Now behind each of the lines containing "google_image" add a corresponding line for froogle.

No.1 in %SearchEnginesHashLib

'google_froogle','Google (Froogle)',

Code (markup):

No. 2 in %SearchEnginesHashID

'froogle\.google\.','google_froogle',

Code (markup):

No. 3 in %SearchEnginesKnownUrl

After the next update run you should see Froogle-visitors listed as "Google (Froogle).

 

Great method Chengfu, was not aware you could add user agents to AWstats.

Not to get this topic of course but I find Awstats figures to be way off from what I see with other more robust reporting tools, ie G Analytics. And when I say way off I mean WAY OFF.

Yes, I'm seeing the same differences. I think the reason is that Google Analytics has no chance to track robots (while Awstats doesn't recognize all bots as bots and counts some as visitors) and it cannot detect visits where only images, rss-feeds or similar files without tracking pixels are fetched.

 

Cheng: True dat. I only wish my analytics account would grant me more than 5 profiles aready. Urchin is ubercool and until a couple months ago I was paying big bucks for it.
