Need urgent help... using FrontPage to create both my sites... which are located in different files on my hard drive...

As both are related sites... I was thinking of creating my elvis-presley-biography.com as a subdomain in elvispresleynews.com

however, when I created in my host server... they can't figure out how I need to change the host http publish url so that elvis-presley-biography.com publishes to the subdomain in elvispresleynews.com

please, please can someone here email or post what I need to do... as this is getting beyond a joke... as my host support team knows nothing about Frontpage publishing features...

    URGENT HELP NEEDED.... THANKS:eek:

Ask them to give you permissions to create subwebs. That should fix it for you.

Frontpage doesn't deal with subdomains. Instead, as MatthewN indicated, it uses subwebs.

Essentially, they are the same sort of thing but appear in your address bar as domain.com/subweb folder/index.htm. They do not appear to have the same seo properties as a subdomain as far as I know but they do act as completely independent websites as far as Frontpage is concerned.

You need to create a folder in your FP version of the elvis website and then right-click on the folder and choose, 'convert to web' (or something like that anyway). Then you need to build that section up from scratch, including themes, formatting, etc.

No, you don't create any subdomains. Frontpage can't deal with them.

The site you have on your Hard drive (elvis-biography) ... when you open it with FP, it should be in the form of a website, is that correct? With some folders ... _private, images, index.htm and whatever additional folders you have added yourself.

What you need to do is create a new_folder, right-click on the new_folder and choose, convert to web from the menu that pops up when you right-clcik.

    heres what i do:

create a sub-subdomain using my host cp,

for me it basically creates a folder in the main directory

Create a directory with the same name in frontpage in the main directory.

Upload and it should be fine.
