Hi everyone, I'm currently in the process of creating a frontpage design for a holiday park/hotel/conference centre (and even some more things) and I was really struggling at the start, but with some help I ended up with this: The banner thing is a place where they can put 4 announcements like a special last-minute deal for next Easter. Currently, my frontpage design looks like this: http://i53.tinypic.com/2vacnbl.jpg though, I colored the 'active' newsbanner article in a bit greenish colour. For some reason my internet isn't working too well so I can't upload it. Today, I had some talks with the director and he said he liked the design, but felt it was too 'business-like', it needed to be friendlier. Some examples he showed weren't exactly the best-looking websites I've seen, but I do understand what he's trying to say, as this design is kind of modern. Though, I'm not sure how to change this layout into one that looks more open and friendly! Does anyone here have an idea how to address this? Any other remarks & critiques are also very welcome!
I actually like the web design, but if the client wants it to look friendlier, I'd suggest changes the colors to something lighter and more playful. I'm not sure what the mouse-overs or links look like since this is a jpg, but Im sure there is something you can do there as well.
Hi, Thanks for your response, much appreciated. The colors were also something I thought of, but these are kind of colors given by the company, so I'm not really sure to what extent I should change those. Do you have any other idea? I'm thinking about fonts, but for the rest I can't really think of anything.. Regards, Niels
