I have a website setup and I have just set the front page to display a static page.

The page works ok until I set it as the front page then I get a 404 error.

    Any ideas?

    my link: http://grigri-divers.com/spanish/

    proof the page exists: http://grigri-divers.com/spanish/inicio/

I am very confused. I have set up many WP sites and this is the first time I have this issue.

    Cheers

Update your permalinks and see if that fixes the problem, also make sure that your home page is still set correctly in your settings.

Ok I am going nuts now.....

I have followed all advice in the world on this one and still same issue.

No matter what page is set to Static it shows a 404 error.

I have 3 identical blogs (english, german, spanish ) set up like this and this is the only one having these issues.

The index page (static page) displays correctly:

    grigri-divers.com
    grigri-divers.com/index.php

But the other pages are not proof that it exists, it's a 404 error, sometimes it displays that way and sometimes it's a "blank" page 404 error.

    grigri-divers.com/spanish
    grigri-divers.com/spanish/inicio

Whenever I try to set it up like this I create another entirely different WP blog and put it in that folder, and set a static page for that blog/folder. I thought the static page was for the index.php (grigri-divers.com), I didn't know you could set it for a different page.
