Just got a computer on sale (impulse buy) for $350 from best buy...

it's got an 18.5" flat widescreen monitor...
    2GB ram...
    1.66 ghz processor...
    350GB hard drive...
    DVD+-RW...

    and...

    Vista Home Edition!

    Wish me luck...

hopefully I don't respond to my own thread later today with "this sucks"...

    Well done :)

    Vista is honestly pretty good.

    Thats a good buy - thats only £227.55 - I paid £400 for a similar spec PC.

I guess it'll take some getting used to...

it's not slow, but doesn't seem as "smooth" as my XP desktop...

One thing that bugs me, is how the web seems different on this widescreen... when you maximize a page, it HUGE... I need to go back and redesign some of my older sites now, haha...

What's with all the popups? I need to click "ok" like three times before I can delete a file or empty folder..

Welcome to Vista. You will get used to it after some time :) But look around in the web, I remember seeing before a tweak that allows you to disable the prompt.

Please don't go back to XP. Let Microsoft have at least a few satisfied Vista customers. :D
