    Hello Webmasters,

As you all know optimization is not so easy process nowadays. Google is changing day by day. So my question is that when you have a website either newly build or old one (More than One Year) from which step we should start the On Page SEO process and How long it should be run?

Currently i am following the steps listed below :

    1. Changing TITLE, META KEYWORDS, DESCRIPTION, H1 and look for some Content related Mistakes.
    2. Canonical Issue
    3. Look for the Internal Linking
    3. SEO friendly URL Structure
    4. Submission to Analytics and Webmasters..

    And then
    5. Start Off Page Activities and WAIT for the Google Under 10 Rank.

Is there anything i missed? or any other techniques should i follow? or any tool that you can recommend me for full ON PAGE website analysis?..

    Thanks in Advance!

Hello, me personally I'm not knowledgable about SEO, but I've been reading and building websites long enough to have formed soem habits, I don't know if they help but for some sites I receive traffic.
I make sure my main keywords for each page are in the TITLE, in the URL, then in the body of the content.
As for the internal linking I use modules (I ork with drupal only) which automatically show a few other links to my other pages based on title and tags.
I use analytics for my tracking and also I put it in google webmaster tools so that I can have real-time reports in analytics (not useful but cool)
But I've stopped doing sitemap.xml or submitting links to anything (search engines, web directories, rss directories, ping, etc.. I don't do any of that anymore), afterall it's the job of search engines to index my site, if they can't well they're probably not very successful anyway.

So that's about it. For some site it works well, for others not so well, I don't know why and I don't care much anyway.

anil.lalit21, you sound like you are heading in the right direction. Just of a couple of other things that come to mind:

    1) Make sure you have high quality content above the fold on your webpages.
    2) Avoid having too many links in the footer of your pages.
    3) If you do any link building, make sure to use a wide variety of keywords, and also link to several different pages on your site, not just the homepage.
    4) Try and promote your website on social media sites like Stumbelupon, Reddit, Facebook and Twitter etc as Google search results are now influenced by these.
    5) Don't put too many keywords in your internal anchor text (linking between pages) or this will be flagged as spam - keep it natural.

I don't give an authentic advise but I suggest you must check the scope of keywords , outlook really matters and meaningful content really plays an important role..

Aim for off page activities now, later when you start ranking in the first 2-5 pages look deeply what you can do about increasing time on page, decreasing bounce rate and other visitor factors. That alone can help get higher in the results without additional backlinks.

I think you need to start from new links. Also add new content step by step.
