It depends on what type of PTC you own. If its a ponzi bux site offering $0.01 per click to members. Then you will have to charge at least $15 per 1000 clicks (assuming 50% referral earnings. $0.015*1000) which is unrealistic. No one will pay $15 for 1000 hits. So you will must have to charge about $2-$3 for it. In this way, you will have to pay to members from your own pocket. It will show profits in beginning (as you will be getting good money for membership upgrades) but members invest to earn profit. So when they will recover their investment, Cashouts will be more than the receipts. Then you will have no other way but to close the site. If you own Aurora site, You will offer low click rates and cheap advertising packages. Then you will get some good revenue. It also depends on some other factors too. More than 90% of the advertisers on your ptc site will be other ptc site owners or clickers who advertise their referral link to get referrals for their other ptc programs. Other will be some matrix and affiliate programs. If you start Aurora site, You will get some sales from your ptc site members who can use their account balance to advertise or pay you via ap/pp. There are also many PTC forums where you can sell advertisement on your PTC site. Neobux.com was king. They had a good plan i think and potential advertisers to pay them. A unique script and paying instantly. I read somewhere that their cashouts amounted to 200,000$ a day. They managed to pay 0.01 per click for 3 years but when they realized that its not working well enough so they dropped the click rates to 0.001 and direct referral earnings by 90%. Yes i always prefer aurora if one wants to run a stable ptc these days. If you want to run a longterm site with bux model, then its not possible unless you have advertisers ready to pay or an excellent plan to manage it. As of now, No bux site survive more than 3 months. Even vcbux had a crash which was ideal for bux model after neobux.
