From top 10 to 100+ Ranking. Has anyone else's sites taken a turn for the worse?

At the beginning of the week, I had about 4 of my websites in the top 10 for their targeted keywords. Then on Tuesday, all of them dropped - some just a few spots, but one of them went from #7 to #151. Is anyone else experiencing a drop like this? I am assuming and hoping that it is Google Dance related, but you never know until it bounces back. Please post here if you have experienced something similar...it would be good for my sanity

I agree, definetly part of the caffeine update ... I've dropped back a couple of pages for a few keywords. Of course, on the caffeine beta site I'm doing pretty well ... so I don't know what's going on exactly.

Google does this every now and then to shake things up a bit and keep us on our toes. How SEO professionals interpret these signals is to put our noses to the grindstone and step up our SEO efforts to compensate. Let me know if you have any questions on getting back up to where you feel you belong...

I have been doing SEO for over 4 years, and have always been successful at getting my clients into the top 10. That being said, I do know quite a bit, but I don't know everything, and I am always trying to learn more. Two facts I do know: SEO is a field where you have to evolve quickly or you get left in the dust, and nobody outside of Google truly knows what is in Google's mysterious algorithm.

Through the years I have been through many Google dances...just wanted to confirm that everyone's else was feeling it as well.

Ok that makes sense but you will also know then that goole version 2 www2.google.com have improved speeds and changed the alogorithm very recently and thus resulting in movements in the serps for most.

    Hope this helps

My sites have been bouncing all over the serps. I went from page 1 to page 3, then page 4. The results seem to change every few hours or so.

Google is once again modifying its search algorithm and hence the results are more ping pong these days.

The serps results now seem to have settled down and 1 thing that is now a major consideration is definately server speeds
