From PR0 to PR5...whatever, I'm happy

    My directory (www.linkrain.com) went from PR0 to PR5 and i think that's a great result...at least for me :)

Maybe the result is not good compared to other ones I read about in some threads (from PR0 to PR7 wow...) but I'm happy anyway.

Next Goal: PR6 with the next update ;)

Can I ask -- do you have a least one Pr6+ link to your directory?

    Yes I do :)

@ -Rie- : Yahoo site explorer says that I have 5.284 backlinks.

@ shinestream: I worked over 2 months quite hard on it and I think i spent 100-200$ on buying some realted links and blogpost. Finally I added a blog to the directory wich is always updated with some fresh articles written by me. Creating new and fresh content brought some really good backlinks because people started to link to my articles.

@ Wamchu: I don't have listings because the directory had only some links added by me. 2 days ago I made a "reset" cancelling most of the links I added. No one wanted to make a link exchange or to buy links in this PR0 directory. Now, since yesterday and since the Directory got a good PR, I already sold a few links. I had to decide between permanent and yearly links and finally I decided to set a yearly subscription because of some reasons:

-many big directories changed from permanent to yearly
-if payment is yearly the directory will get more quality sites because after 1 year, if a certain listed site does not exist anymore, the owner won't pay for the next year. If you accept permanent listings you will loose a lot of quality because many websites just "die". At least this is how I think about permanent listings.
Take wordcloud sites as an example. Once they are full, the owners don't care anymore about them. If I have customers that pay every year, I will assure quality and work hard on the directory every single day.

@ Antonio: very interesting thread...I have to think about the Casino section :) (added you positive rep ;) )

Thanks to all for the compliments :)

I see you're using one of my free templates and have removed both footer links to the designer, Emillie Internet Directory and sponsor, Link Building Service. Please reinclude the links or remove the template completely.
