I just got recently got PR 2 for the main address of my website after waiting for 1.5 years. I also checked that other article pages got PR 1. This happen around 3 months ago. Today, I checked that the main address dropped to PR 0...???? (despite other article pages is still on PR 1). Anybody can help me to explain this? (i.e. any possibility that I did something wrong with my backlink activities that GOOG dropped my PR 2?) thank you.
Buck up, bud, it happens to the best of us. Don't be so overly catered on G's stuff, nobody gives a flying fuck about PR these days (other than a bunch of Indians who pimp their so-called projects or kids who steal their mommys' credit cards and buy fake PR7 domains only to lose them three months afterwards) Focus on revenue from your site. And by "revenue" I don't mean selling ads on DP.
i think second time googla panda update cause you harm. check what you did wrong. then solve it. hope google will reward you.Â
Its no doubt that your site was hit by Google panda. You need to improve on your seo methods and make sure it doesn't hit you again in the next update.
Hello.... Thank you for all of your comments..... Update results from me..... - I re do my backlinking process, however, I use varieties of blog for commenting. It is not centering only from just several websites. - I do little commenting on forum. I did not over-do them..... Results: As I wrote this comment, one of them back to PR 2 and the other went to PR 1. All the pages were not affected with the drop of main URL. I have a new site that I built for around 2 months. All the pages have been ranked to PR 1 already. What I learned: - Do not overdo the backlink process. Do it with various websites, not centering only several of them....
Hi Marbou, It's possible that either your homepage has been associated with a 'bad neighbourhood' rather than you have been penalised by Google. I would look through your links that you have created and have a look at the pagerank of those sites, see if anyone else has dropped significantly because if they have, they will bring you down too as they are then considered to be negative equity. Link building is about careful placement of links that are made to look natural rather than bought/traded and so this is yet another reason that you could be getting lowered within the eyes of google. Make sure that your content is unique, the links you place are strong and natural looking (even if they aren't!) and avoid linking to irrelevant content.
Whenever a domain drops in the SERPS, the good part is it's easily recoverable. Rethink your methods and then try again.
Did you notice a drop in traffic? If not, then I don't think you should worry too much about PR. It is possible that one of your backlinks that was on the site with high PR got removed or the page got dropped.
Thank you for all the feedback. I do not have substantially drop in traffic, however concern about the long term consequences which may harm other pages that have higher page rank. It is making sense that: - Linking to relevant content - Linking to higher PR sites - linking to an index page But those 3 are very challenging to do on the long term....(especially on relevant content)
@idmindia, Yes, I agree on inbound link among articles within the website. I try to do that with relevant keywords to each other. The benefits also reader will click to see other articles as well and I assume goog see this as a good on page seo (?).
Same thing happened to me, but I went from a 5 to a 2 without any reason. My traffic was up, and I had better links out there.
Google had updated the PageRank 2 times last month. During the 2nd update it should gone. You have to wait until the other update.
The Google Page Rank mostly matters on the content and the quality of the links coming to your site.So if your page rank rises or falls then it means you have to blame or thank the quality of the links coming to your site.
Your site has been hit badly by Google Panda Update. Best solution is to make relevant and unique content for the website as Google gives much priority to content and also to the links coming to your website.
if u have good users, then forgot about PR, traffic/user is the only god to take ur website on new high
check your SEO, do you continue for building links for your site? Did you always update it specially the content? If your site has PR it doesn't mean to stop working for it, instead continue working for your site.
