Hi to all, I m planing up for a new domain for my company website and need to transfer the backlinks and the authority of the old domain to a new domain. I don’t want to redirect the old domain name with the new one, I hope you guys can share your professional experince here with me
If you wish to transfer the backlinks and authority of the old domain to a new domain, the best way to achieve this is through a 301 redirect. A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect that passes between 80-90% of your backlink juice and authority to the redirected domain.
When moving the website, it is not only about acquiring link value/equity from backlinks to old website. There is a lot more than backlinks that gets transferred from your old website to new - Traffic, page equity, page authority and link equity. I would suggest implementing a 301 redirect for sure because that will not only pass link equity but it will also the authority and value that your old website has gained over the period of time. Second thing I would do is update the backlinks at all the places - this is a longer project but totally worth it! This should be done even if 301 redirect has been implemented because 301 only pass a percentage of link equity and not all of it.
you will compromising all your seo work, think carefully before moving. if its new go ahead but an old domain is a ranking factor.
