Anyone switched their servers from Linux to Windows? I want to do this due Windows 2008 Server, which promises a lot. I want some professional answers about pros and cons, not "Windows sux because I say so". I want to see if the sysadmins have some trust in this new server technology. Why new? Because is a very very big difference from 2003 Server to 2008 Server, regarding administration and security.
Frankly it is too early to comment on Windows 2008 at this time, give it another 3-6 months before asking for comparisons
Well, even Microsoft sais that a great number of they departments and partners switched to 2008 even when it was on beta and RC, so I haven't seen so much trust for Microsoft for years (or never? )
It is normally better to wait for the public to begin using on real live applications before deciding. Frankly no harm waiting just to be on the safe side.
