Hey guys, wheather it be right or wrong I have always taken the approach with my sites to slowly get them to the front page of google so it looks more like a natural progression, I find that I can quite easily get to page 2 for my chosen keywords and often get to the bottom of page 1, my question is, what can I do to make the transition to go from posistion 8,9 or 10 and up to the top 3 or 4. Just as an example for this question lets say that my chosen keyword is "cornchips". Thanks for any help you guys can provide Adam
You need some quality or authority backlinks with a limited number of outbound linksto boost you to page 1 of Google. We have done this several times and get higher rankings than wikipedia!
Find out what backlinks the No1 has got and try and copy their high PR links this should give you a little leg up.
You can also do image optimization for Google. It helps a lot for product based sites. Try this. Hope it will work for you.
Take a look of the backlinks of your competitors and try to put your like there, if it is a web directory.
Some keywords will rank without any promotional work and some wouldn't. If you find yourself in the position where your keywords wouldn't rank high as you expect, you should promote the page. Of course, your page needs to have good content, or your page will be deindexed for the search for a certain time period, to check where the page should actually rank.
You need to get .edu and .gov backlinks these will help you, all you need to do is see if your competition has any edu links if not you are on to a winner. Getting links from the same source is hard because if their link is higher than yours it will be classed as being more weight than your site. Meaning if their link is nearly the first link and yours is the 30th link.
Keep doing what you did to reach bottom of page 1 When it comes to top ranking evry detail do count ...and age also ...
keep building links like you have been and maybe seek out a good link from a related website as well. the last push can be the hardest and may take longer to get that top 3 but you are doing the right things if you came that far
Daily optimization of your keywords because you don't know when Google will crawl again to read your keywords and backlinks that you have and also continue white hat technique that your doing.
Keep on building more quality backlinks from high pr & quality websites for achiveing the top position in the search engines....
How can you outrank Wikipedia? That is outrageous. I have never heard or read someone doing that before.....
